Our ability to source, analyze, and manage opportunities to facilitate new business in complex environments is well documented. This select list of press releases reinforces our ability to drive cross-disciplinary engagement across industries, incubators, suppliers, consumers, governments, and academia. Furthermore, these efforts enabled the invention and scaling of sustainable products, solutions, and technologies. Each of these products were new to their respective industries and required thoughtful messaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Standard Industries on Industry and Innovation

Standard Industries owns and operates the world’s largest roofing and waterproofing business that includes GAF in North America and BMI Group in Europe, Asia and Africa. However, on the topic of innovation, David Millstone and David Winter, co-COE's, highlight my work for their subsidiary, Specialty Granules.

Revolutionizing the Roofing Industry

70% of all US homes are constructed using asphalt shingles. 3 rock-based products serve as the armor for these shingles. With a 50% market share for these rocks, termed roof granules, SGI functions as a privatized utility, within a duoupoly market structure, which makes them a crucial piece to supplying US infrastructure. Despite operational concerns, I steadfastly worked to address operational concerns though innovation via the invention and scaling of alternative production technologies for 2/3 of these rock-based products. These solutions have a $64M market potential, are protected through patents and in production through a manufacturing site I acquired $2.3M under budget.

SGI Uses Waste to Diversify into Aggregates

I assisted management in obatining the necessary approvals and quality control standards to ensure SGI was able to supply the nation's highways across a 5 state region with high quality aggregates

Following the successful acquisition of a pilot plant to scale my patented technologies, I facilitated a commercial agreement, which diversified SGI into the agricultural sector for the first time in 100 years.

RISE is a state owned research institute collaborating with academia, industry and society as a central part of the Swedish innovation system. Here, we can be seen melting rocks into fiborous materials to understand the feasibility of entering the mineral wool and high end fiber markets to support GAF expansion and locally produced insulation
